Gar, Writing this has proven so difficult, because it feels as though no words will ever do justice to the impact you have had. As Gemma’s friend, I am honoured to have met you, been welcomed into the fam and had you play such an active part in my life these past few years. I wanted to share some stories that I have thought about a lot these past few weeks. Thank you for being you and creating so many memories. > The Jones-Neal love for the pantomime is infectious. I first joined you in 2016 and watched everyone chant ‘He’s behind you!’ in unison... I instantly wanted in on the tradition. I soon got up to speed and learnt all the classic panto phrases. From then onwards, whenever we were out having fun, you would say ‘We’ll have to do it again then, wont we? Woo!’ > Another wonderful thing that the Jones-Neal fam introduced me to is the festival 'Love Supreme'. In 2019, we went in with glittered faces and ears ready for jazz. Gar, you instantly loved Celeste... and Gemma even managed to take a photo of you and her! Her songs always make me think of that pic. Your reputation for great festival attire extended that year to a distinctive purple hat we bought you - and since that day has been an item I always associate with you. > Always one for the pub and having a local, no matter where you are in the world. I look back through my messages from you and they mostly say ‘Falcon?’ You would always message when in London, even when Gemma was in Exeter, to perch at the bar and catch-up over a pint. > My kindle is filled with books you told me to download - like White Teeth and Brit(ish). You always asked and cared about what I was reading - and made recommendations to me based on that. > We’d always get into debates. From politics to buying houses. If I do ever fancy becoming a homeowner, I know you will be so proud of me. > COYS - The first game we went to in the new stadium together was against Wolves. We lost - and I’ve had a particular competitive nature towards them ever since! One of my favourite Spurs stories is not related to a game however, but combines your love for music and Tottenham Hotspur. We were in Parga on holiday, sat outside Jonnie’s bar, talking about our favourite Spurs songs and you burst into ‘Everywhere you go, always take Lamela with you’... To everyone’s surprise, you were in tune! You are famously the only welsh man who cant sing, so you proudly kept repeating this line as you were managing to hit the notes. We were all in stitches, and I am sure this song is one of the main reasons I have a soft spot for Lamela. 💙 My thoughts and love are with Shirl, Rhi, Geej and Robbie everyday. I am so grateful to have them in my life. You don’t need me to tell you how amazing they are, you knew that more than anyone. Miss you and will never forget you. Lots of love, Bev xxx
