Dear Shirley, Rhian, Gemma and family, It’s hard to believe I’m writing this, as tragedies like these are just so hard to cope with. I know the pain you are all feeling and nobody can take it away. But please know that when it’s silent and you feel alone, that there will be someone thinking of you. More than one I’m sure. When I think of Gareth, I smile as I think of the loving teasing that used to go on between you all, and the laughter. He really knew how to laugh. And what a big smile he had. I was looking over pictures from my 21st birthday where Gareth, and you Shirley, were there dancing away until the end with all the other 20 somethings! Of course what I can’t forget is how forgiving he was, when me and my best friend, 18 at the time I think, stumbled back very drunk from the pub and my friend spent the evening sleeping in Gemma’s bedroom whilst I went back to the pub and you all had a New Years Eve party downstairs with my mum, dad and sister! My friend didn’t even last until midnight! But Gareth seemed totally un-phased by it all. As that’s just how he was. Kind, funny and memorable. It’s a true true loss. Sending lots of love Danielle xxx
