Nicola 12th February 2021

Nick and I first met Gareth about eight years ago when he started coming into our cafe. We would regularly bump into him in the local pub, turned out we lived a few streets away. Whenever we saw Gareth our ‘going out for a couple of drinks’ always turned into significantly more. I always found Gareth really positive, enthusiastic, and incredibly easy to talk to. When we opened our next cafe, Gareth would come in, it was at that point we realised Gareth knew EVERYONE! He’d always bump into a least three people every time. A lot from various tennis clubs he’s been a member of over the years. As well as tennis he loved football, especially Spurs. My colleague is a massive Spurs fan, on many many occasions he offered to lend him his season ticket if there was a match he was unable to go to, which if he’d pursued it Gareth absolutely would’ve lent it to him. Over the years Gareth always kept me up to date on what everyone in the family was up to. I’ve never met his daughters, but I know where they went to uni, what they were studying, results, where they are now and in what jobs. When talking about his family he was so proud of all of them and his happiness really shone through. We’ll be watching the funeral online today and raising a glass or two to Gareth and all his family. Lots of love Nicki & Nick, curiosity deli
