I first met Gareth when he was BT Professor of OD at Henley.  As someone who worked in OD/BT and was challenged day to day in facilitating organisational change, I had high hopes to meet someone who carried this title and I was not disappointed!  Gareth was knowledgeable, generous and totally without pomposity.  He was also immensely supportive and encouraged me to broaden my horizons when it came to my career and indeed, my own development.  When I finally went on to get my doctorate some 20 years later, he was delighted and encouraging.  Whilst we didn't keep in touch on any sort of regular basis, I know I could have reached out to him and he would have offered whatever support/guidance he could.  I am immensely sad to learn of his death and send my deepest condolences to his family.
