We first met Gareth on a visit to Brighton when the Watchmakers Arms first opened. My sister, Ruth and husband Rick, co-owners of the Watchmakers were keen to introduce us to their most loyal regular. Gareth’s warm and friendly manner shone through. He took a genuine interest in who we were and where we came from. He was so easy to talk to and could hold a conversation on any topic. He was interesting and made us feel like we had known him for years. As we live in Manchester, we only visit once a year but Gareth always welcomed us with a cheery smile and conversation as if we had seen him the day before. Our hearts go out to his family and friends. His loss will be felt far and wide. Sue, Les, Adam and Matt x
