Dear Shirley, Rhian, Gemma and Robbie - I am just devastated to learn this news about Gareth. I had the privilege of knowing him when I worked with he and Rob to develop a leadership program from their work on "Why Should Anyone Be Led by You?" There was no separation between professional colleague and friend for Gareth - if we were going to work together, we would be friends. I had the privilege of meeting Shirley and Robbie once when we had a meeting at your home in Brighton. After about an hour of work, Gareth felt it was time for a break to go to his local. He was so proud to take us there. There was not one meeting we had that didn't end up with drinks in a pub somewhere. I always felt seen & respected when I worked with Gareth, even though he was the guru. He loved to tell stories and had a flair for the dramatic. He cared about me as a person as well - he always wanted to know if I had met a boyfriend and was horrified that I had to experience online dating. When my mother died, Gareth was extremely comforting to me - he told me to go easy with myself as I wouldn't be at my best for awhile. It was just what I needed to hear. Gareth was such a special man with such a zest for life. Know that he was loved from the far corners of the world. He loved and lived with his whole heart & I will miss him greatly. Cathy Earley
