One of my favourite stories of Gareth was when he first joined Stormont tennis club. He turned up for the Friday group lesson to be greeted by "This is a group of advanced tennis players". Most of us would have turned tail but, completely undaunted, Gareth replied "Then I'll learn a lot'. And he did.

Gareth always made me smile.
