Distant memories

Created by Jim 3 years ago

I knew Gareth best during his very early days when he used to come with his parents and sister Glenys to visit his relatives in our village, Cosheston - near Pembroke.  We were related.  His great-grandfather and my grandfather were brothers.  I do, just, remember them both.  I did also see him occasionally at his family home in Cardiff.  I do remember having many interesting discussions with him.  One particularly was when we were talking about our career choices.  I was by then well into my scientific life and I was trying to persuade him, hopefully humorously, against his choice of business and sociology which he was then making. How much he has proved me to be wrong!  Unfortunately our working lives have kept us separate since then, though I have always followed his career with great respect and interest.  It has also meant that I have not met his family, at least not to get to know you.  My thoughts are very much with you at this difficult time.

With much love to you all,   Jim    and also from my niece and nephews  Liz, Gareth and Roger.
