Dedicated to the memory of Gareth Jones

*EDIT: Thank you to everyone that has donated, we really appreciate money for these causes. Polite reminder that your memories and pictures are just as, if not more, valuable to us so please contribute and share. The messages we have received over the last few days show that there are many people whose lives were touched by Gareth and we would love to hear your stories. Many thanks, Gareth's family xx

Gareth was a much loved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend. His kindness, intelligence, irreverent sense of humour, love of life and passion for politics touched so many people. Tragically he passed away in an accident on Saturday 16 January 2021, taken by the sea in Hove trying to rescue his beloved Cockapoo, Connie.

He lived an extraordinary life filled with love, laughter, football and fun whilst also enjoying immense academic and professional success. The outpouring of love and grief for him has been astounding and we wanted to create a place where everyone could go to share memories of a life wonderfully and fully lived.

Thoughts

The memorial day was a brilliant example of what an incredible family you are. Tough, loving, funny, generous, solid and a true inspiration. Just like your dad xx

I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Gareth. He was such an inspiring and refreshing thinker and speaker who willingly shared his wealth of experience and intellect with so many people. I met him many times when he delivered sessions in Dublin when I worked at Bank of Ireland and also at the IMI. He was a unique combination of professionalism and fun with a passion for what he did so well. My deepest sympathy to all his family, colleagues and friends in this time of loss. I will always remember and appreciate having had the opportunity to know and learn so much from him. Eamonn Eaton Dublin

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Gareth for many years as I was with BlessingWhite - the company who represented his and Rob's thought leadership in the book - WSABLBY. Gareth was an exceptional person as well as a great leader, speaker, coach, and mentor. Even more valued to me was his friendship and the time and care he invested. I remember working with him for one of my clients and he was giving a speech to over 100 people and of course everyone one was engaged and hanging on his every word, story or joke. After his speech cocktails would be served and that is the part of the work he enjoyed the most - connecting one-on-one or in small groups, meeting people, learning about them, and sharing and laughing. Gareth was so giving of his time with everyone and I wish he had more time now. I will do my best to lead and engage others the way Gareth did. Thoughts going out to his family for your loss.
